Clent Hill Camping and Caravanning Club Site

On our way to Devon we stopped overnight at the Clent Hills Club site. It was just south of Birmingham and not far off the M5. We had planned to stay at a small certified site but when I called to see if they had a pitch the field was still  under snow and they were not sure what state the field would be in when the snow melted. This made me a bit apprehensive about the Clent Hills site and although there was still a fair bit of snow along the sides of the road and around the perimeter of the field the pitches were all in good condition.

The site itself was quite basic but fine for an overnight stop. The wardens and staff were very helpful. The weather was glorious sunshine but it was still extremely cold. This made for an interesting shower in the morning as the site was thick with frost and the shower block was like stepping in to a fridge. This has to be the coldest I have ever felt on a camping trip.

This was the first time we had used the van since fitting the propex heater. I was a bit concerned we would be cold during the night but we left it on low and it kept the van really cosy despite the freezing conditions outside.

All in all this was a good site for a stopover but I don’t think I would stay here for any longer than a couple of days.
